WILDFIRE MEETING HELD BY FCES
Flagler County
Emergency Services held a
wildfire meeting on 1/20/00. DOF said that
of dry conditions continue, we may see a
season more severe than
1998. But we will
have to see. Our organization must look at
it's
changing role in the wildfire picture in
Flagler County. With our GMRS
we can
now provide back up communication for
those who do not have
the capability, such
as Florida Water Corp, and others.
Hams are
needed too to support the RACES
net, as well as CB operators to help
with CB
9.
SEARCH AND RESCUE TRAINING
REACT members
participated in the SAR
training REACT 1,3,8,17, and 33 were at the
training session. 3,8,17, and 33 were there the full 24 hours
including the campout.

GMRS REPEATER TO GET SOME
WORK DONE
Florida
Water Corp will be doing some work on their tower. Because of this work,
our
system will go down for several hours on a
date to be
announced.
MEMBER HOURS TRACKED
Each volunteer hours
will be tracked,
effective year 2000. This is part of a
program to
award the member with the most
hours during nets, events, functions,
and
emergencies.
TRAINING POINTS SYSTEM
The proposed pints training
system is taking
shape, awards points and rank for training,
and
active experience.
